Thomas Newson & Futuristic Polar Bears - Taurus (Teaser)

As 2014 draws nearer to a close, Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings imprint and its innumerable, renowned releases, shows no signs of slowing-down.

Dutch whizzkid Thomas Newson has become a firm Revealed favourite, ever since the unmissable banger ‘Pallaroid’ became one of the most in demand IDs of last year, gaining support from key players in the game including Hardwell himself, W&W and Dannic.

Now, the attention-grabbing producer unites with in-demand trio Futuristic Polar Bears, for the storming powerhouse ‘Taurus’. As one of the labels fresher faces on the scene, these British Bears are already riding high amongst their peers after gaining support from the likes of Radio 1’s Danny Howard, confirming them as a sensational name to watch out for.

Premiering ‘Taurus’ live together at this Summer’s Creamfields Festival – in the Revealed Arena no less – the track is a combination of two artist demos, reflecting just how far they’ve travelled on their journey around the world performing to packed-out crowds. Merging sonic beats and a high-octane energy, with stand-out drops and an evolved development on its original split project, the unity of Thomas Newson and Futuristic Polar bears, makes for an explosive present and a blindingly bright future.

Sasha Kloeber delivered a wonderful piece of deep house music on the remix for SRTW’s We Were Young. Awesome chord progressions, fused with string sections and mini guitar licks. Combine those with some of the best chopped female vocals around and you’ve got yourself a hit in the making. Wow!

Top 100 DJ 2014 (LIST)

If you read Music Times article on the leaked rendition of the DJMag Top 100 DJs list, you'll probably be disappointed to see the real thing: It's exactly the same (except this time nos. 71 through 100 are included as well). Once again, Hardwell has established himself (or at least according to a poll that many EDM fans hold in very low esteem) as the no. 1 DJ on the planet. Regardless of controversy, the list gets referenced all year so the Dutch disc jockey could do worse than take the title for a second consecutive term.

Other big performers: Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike moved up a few spots to the no. 2 position, while Armin van Burren lost one spot (although no. 3 in the world still sounds admirable to us). Martin Garrix, the wunderkind behind "Animals," rose 36 spots and took no. 4, making him more than just the youngest DJs on the chart but also one of the best. Deorro was the highest new entry, at no. 19, while Ummet Ozcan was the biggest mover, improving 68 spots to no. 31 from last year.

Then there are the entries that make the hardcore scene members shake their heads warily. The contest is already referred to, sarcastically, as a popularity contest, and there are a few names here that will draw "one hit wonder" criticism (whether that's true remains to be seen). Big single sellers DJ Snake (of "Turn Down For What") and The Chainsmokers ("Selfie") come in at nos. 65 and 97 respectively. The most shocking spot has to be Boy George (yes, that Boy George), who was a new entry at no. 89.

Hardwell feat. Chris Jones - Young Again (Extended Mix)

http://www.dance-charts.de/images/Oktober_2014/Hardwell-feat.-Chris-Jones---Young-Again.jpg

Current world #1 DJ Hardwell has had an extraordinary 2014. From continuing to rule supreme over the dance music world, reeling off top-charting hit after hit with epic releases such as ‘Dare You’, ‘Everybody Is In The Place’, the iconic Dutch producer now delivers the newest single ‘Young Again’, from his forthcoming debut album, which is also equipped to hit a high note amongst the charts. Always one to nurture the brightest talents in the industry, Hardwell has enlisted British vocalist Chris Jones, to add a raw, rock-orientated tone, to his euphoric, soaring melodies.

Powered with emotion, ‘Young Again’ is a merger of genre-bending bliss, fusing rootsy, electro-acoustic guitar strings with Jones’s powerful vocals that command attention the second the track begins, a new anthem is truly unleashed. Questioning “Will We Ever Feel Young Again?”, as the track switches between towering club beats and dominant drops, key chords pound beneath the catchy melody, accumulating in a vocal-driven club stormer with mass appeal.

Highlighting Hardwell’s sheer versatility by stepping out of the traditional, progressive-house blueprint and daring to be different, by not being pinned down to a specific strain of dance music and finding inspiration all around him, ‘Young Again’ is an infectious record readied to dominate the charts and one that is setting up the imminent release of his new artist album very nicely!

Following the release of his vocal anthem ‘Dear Life’, featuring Bright Lights, which was his first foray into the world of vocal-led production, current #30 Top 100 DJ Dannic is back with another vocal masterpiece. This time hooking up with the singer/songwriter/producer trio Shermanology for a mammoth new vocal collaboration that is undoubtedly sure to set the world alight once it official drops. Performed live at the sold-out Revealed Recordings show at Heinkien Music Hall in Amsterdam during ADE, ‘Wait For You’ is packed with melodic drive coupled with an anthemic vocal that is the perfect follow up record by one of the scene’s most exciting producers right now.
